Awesome Twixie

No one that follows my tumblr will be surprised to learn that I enjoy shipping Twilight Sparkle and Trixie. With that said, getting this line in an actual canon episode of the show set off something giggly in my head, and when the episode was finished, I felt compelled to draw something.

This was it.

The episode, "Magic Duel," was actually pretty refreshing! It was still heavy on the fan service, and Fluttershy is still the absolute worst, but...
...the fan service managed not to be awful for once -- to the point that it was actually kind of fun -- and it did a good job with the characters.

I'll be honest. I was dreading this episode. Season 2 wrung most of my excitement for new episodes out of me, and Season 3 didn't seem set to change that. Add to that a returning character that would have been /very/ easy to do badly... and an episode premise that would have been even /easier/ to do badly...
...and, yeah. I had nearly resigned myself to seeing the writers ruin one of my favorite things about the show since back when it was still young.

Imagine my surprise.

Sometimes, it seems, a good thing gets to stay good.
